MAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGED RECKLESS DRIVING FROM CENTRAL COAST TO MID NORTH COAST

A 35-year-old man has been charged with several dangerous driving offences, after repeatedly ignoring police directions on a trip from from the Central Coast to the Mid North Coast.

The man was stopped on the Pacific Highway on the Central Coast at about 2.40pm yesterday, after he was allegedly found to be driving 45 kilometres over the speed limit.

The man’s licence was suspended and his right to drive was cancelled.

However just hours later he was allegedly found to be driving 62 kilometres over the speed limit on the Mid North Coast, at Bonville.

Police commenced a pursuit, but it was terminated a short time later.

The man was then involved in a single vehicle crash at a roundabout at Englands Road, where his female passenger received minor chest injuries.

The man was charged with offences including driving recklessly, driving while suspended and failing to stop.

He was refused bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court today.
