JURY DELIBERATES OVER NEW YEARS DAY MURDER

A jury has retired to consider the fate of the Coffs Harbour man, charged over Port Macquarie’s New Years Day murder.

Chad Misiepo is accused of fatally stabbing Peter Martyn, following an argument outside a Norfolk Avenue apartment block on January 1 last year.

He was arrested six days later at Toormina, following a manhunt.

The two-week murder trial concluded on Friday, with the jury expected to reach a verdict this week.
