What is the department of education playing at? We have had an all-party parliamentary inquiry, the department did wrong, and as a matter of urgency needs to fix its mess. So it can either accept that and fix it, or it can accept it and not fix it – for reasons which must be very questionable. Because people in the department need to save face? Because the department will not bow to a mere parliament when it already eigns supreme? Because some people in the department are, as has been alleged, conducting a personal vendetta against this most vulnerable, abused foster child, whose future hangs in the balance?
