ROYLE SIDELINED BY CALF INJURY

Hunter bred triathlete Aaron Royle, will miss lucrative upcoming races in Noosa and the Bahamas due to a calf tear.

Royle sustained the injury midway through the run leg of his Nepean tri win on Sunday.

Despite the injury, Royle was still able to stay clear of the chasing pack to claim the $14,000 winner’s cheque.

The injury will sideline the 25-year-old for 4-5 weeks, which means his season is over.

Royle was the first Australian triathlete to qualify for the Rio Olympics.
