A new public dialysis facility in Forster could be open for patients as early as Christmas.
The custom built renal unit is now complete at the Forster Private Hospital.
Now they are awaiting the arrival of six new chairs.
“We would have liked them to have commenced a bit earlier as you have heard but we are just awaiting on some important pieces of equipment that we need to put in place to make sure we can start that service,” Hunter New England Health’s Michael DiRienzo said.
The new service means dialysis patients will no longer be required to travel to Taree for treatment.
