A dream came true today for Merewether’s Eliza Smith, who received confirmation she’ll be part of this summer’s national ironwoman series.
The 22-year-old narrowly missed out on qualifying at the recent trials, but received a wildcard after Mermaid Beach’s Emma Dick withdrew because of illness.
Smith currently competes for the Northcliffe club on the Gold Coast.
