The Australian Securities and Investment Commission has commenced legal proceedings in the Federal Court against former Glen Innes local Jamie McIntyre and the 21st Century Group.
ASIC alleges that the group was running five land banking schemes that it claims are ‘unregistered’…. And that the 21st Century Group companies and Mr McIntyre have been unlawfully carrying on an unlicensed financial services business.
The federal court has now made interim orders, appointing provisional liquidators to companies associated with Mr McIntyre and the group.
Mr McIntyre ran for the seat of New England against Barnaby Joyce in 2013.
