The battle to increase the number of nurses at Tamworth hospital is gaining momentum with Local MP Kevin Anderson meeting with the state’s health minster today to discuss the issue.
Staff at the hospital say the new emergency department is understaffed.
Minister Jillian Skinner says she will now investigate the issue.
Mr Anderson will also meet with local health clinicians and the CEO of Hunter New England Health in the coming weeks.
