Work to contain black slag on a stretch of shoreline at Lake Macquarie has begun, five months after it was exposed by April’s cyclonic storm.
The potentially toxic refuse at Marmong Point came from the old Pasmico smelter, and will be covered by Lake Macquarie Council remediation works, in the coming weeks.
