HARTSUYKER IN LIMBO AFTER LIBERAL PARTY SPILL

The future of Assistant Minister for Employment Luke Hartsuyker is still in limbo tonight, following last night’s liberal party spill.

New Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is expected to announce new ministerial positions later in the week.

The Federal Member for Cowper is a close friend of former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who promoted him to the outer ministry after the federal election two years ago.

The Coffs Harbour based politician hopes to continue in his position as a creator of jobs but says it’s up to the new prime minister to decide who stays in the ministry.

  1. If Turnbull is clearing the intellectual deadwood out of cabinet, then Luke’s right to look worried.

The only way he could keep his job is if the Nats have a quota of positions, because there really aren’t that many of them left in parliament, and so it’s a bit of a sheltered workshop. He’ll probably end up as an assistant to an assistant somewhere or other, which is pretty much where he is now as Assistant to the Minister for Employment (which is just code for the person who gets to announce all the bad news, leaving the good news for the real Minister).
