After months of mounting pressure, Wyong Liberal Councillor Luke Naynor has resigned from his post, effective immediately.
Mr Naynor moved to Canberra for work earlier this year and has been absent from Council meetings since, drawing criticism from state member David Harris.
Council will consider its options for replacing Mr Naynor at a meeting next week.
