Newcastle demonstrated it’s still in the business of ship building with the handover today of a significant addition to Tonga’s defence forces.
Built by Forgacs, the $5-million landing craft, will be gifted to Tonga for use in humanitarian and disaster relief work.
The job employed around 45 people over the past year.
