HUNTER RIVER BODY MAY BE MISSING MAN

Police are investigating whether a body found in the Hunter River last night, may be that of a missing Maitland man.

The body was spotted in the middle of the river at Morpeth by a member of the public, just after 5.30.

The man, believed to be aged in his 40s, was found to be fully clothed and wrapped in a blanket.

Police say they aren’t ruling out suspicious circumstances.

He’ll be formally identified on Monday.
