Despite being born three weeks ago, and weighing in at just 120 grams, Hunter Valley Zoo’s five new meerkat pups are proving to be quite the handful.
Today NBN News was given a special look at the litter, as it had one of its first tastes of the outside world.
“They stay in the safety of the den for their whole first month of life. When they’re a month old, mum’s going to bring them out on display, we’re going to discover the world’s a little bit bigger than we thought it was.”
Fully grown, the pups will weigh around 800 grams.
