STUDENTS TAKE PART IN ‘TACKLING VIOLENCE’ PROGRAM

A state government domestic violence program has made its way to students at Hunter Sports High.

The ‘Tackling Violence’ workshop, which included lessons both inside and outside the classroom, was led by former NRL player Alan Tongue and the Newcastle Knights’ Clint Newton.

It aimed to educate teenagers about the issue and help them recognise the warning signs.

“We’re not asking everyone to go on a crusade and try and change the world, all we’re asking is for people to lead by example and take an interest in the society that you live in and be responsible and accountable for your actions,” said Knights player Clint Newton.
