Wyong Councillor Greg Best believes Council will be over-stepping its jurisdiction when it votes on a motion to support marriage equality tomorrow night.
It follows a similar move by Gosford Council last month, but Mr Best believes it’s politically motivated.
“At the end of the day that will be held up as the Central Coast’s view. Or at least Wyong’s view. And that’s not the case, I mean we consult more broadly on a granny flat than this issue.”
Mr Best says his comments aren’t a show of support for either side of the debate, rather that the community also needs to be consulted on the issue.
