The Knights have sacked Rick Stone, appointing club legend Danny Buderus as interim coach.
Newcastle will now undertake a formal review process, with remaining players and staff told they need to prove they deserve to stay at the club.

Mitchell Hughes started as a tape editor in Newcastle in 1999. He became a reporter in 2004, working in Lismore and on the Gold Coast.
