FANS GATHER FOR STAR WARS SCENE

PHOTO: “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….” the force was too strong for this journo.

The force was strong in Newcastle today, with a cafe on Union Street resembling a scene out of Star Wars.

Darth Vader, Princess Leia, the storm troopers and an eight-foot Chewbucca all made an appearance at the The Empire Coffee Co, with some younger fans getting dressed up too.

The spectacle was part of a promotion for a Star Wars parody at Cessnock’s St Phillip’s Christian College, next month.

  1. Hello,
My name is Andrew and i spoke to the Journo briefly about the day. I need to correct you.The day was not about The Star Wars Parody Show of St philips. It was a promotion for Empire Coffee Co who was supporting a recruitment day for the 501st legion. We were there with the permission of Glen Friedricks (owner of the shop) to do some cross promotion. I did say this to the journalist but somehow this has been misunderstood. As you can imagined this has caused some ill feeling and i would really appreciate it if NBN would correct the details of the report.
    Thanks
