The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for the Hunter and Central Coast regions due to a fast-moving low pressure system.
The system is expected to form off the Illawarra coast late today, with winds becoming damaging at around 70 to 90 kilometres per hour by tomorrow.
People are also advised to avoid the beach as surf conditions will be dangerous.
