MAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY REACHING SPEEDS OF 169KPH

A 22-year-old man, allegedly driving on a suspended learner licence, has been charged after reaching speeds of 170-kilometres per hour on a motorcycle at Coopernook.

Police say the Herons Creek man was stopped on the Pacific Highway at around 10:30 on Friday night, and recorded a positive blood alcohol reading.

He’ll appear in Taree Local Court next month.
