DOCTORS ENCOURAGED TO MAKE A TREE CHANGE
More doctors could be looking for a tree-change with the federal government announcing greater incentives for those looking to head to the bush.
Around 450 regional towns will benefit from the changes – with the highest incentive paid to work in remote Australia jumping from $47,000 a year to $60, 000.
The maximum incentive to work in a town of less than 5000 people will also increase from $18, 000 to $23, 000 a year.
“Now under this model there is extra incentives the further west you go and the smaller communities you go. So now if you come to Uralla there’s more of an incentive, than if you go to Coffs Harbour or Port Macquarie.”
The new changes will start on July 1.
