NEWCASTLE HERALD STAFF NERVOUSLY FACING NEW ROUND OF JOB LOSSES

After halving the news staff at a major south coast paper last week, Fairfax is expected to swing the axe at the Newcastle Herald in July.

Award-winning journalists and photographers are tipped to be among the casualties, of the second round of cuts in three years.

Readers are being urged not to boycott the newspaper, but instead continue to support it.

  1. Yes it’s scary but don’t forget all the other employees at all the other papers whose jobs are also under threat. The jobs of hundreds of Fairfax employees are at risk here in the Hunter. The Hunter includes Newcastle but Newcastle is not the Hunter.
