An elderly driver is fighting for his life after his car collided with a cattle truck on the Pacific Highway at Urunga this afternoon.
The only occupant of the car, the man had to be freed from the wreckage by a team from Fire and Rescue NSW.
Police say witnesses claim the driver of the sedan had pulled out onto the highway from a service station just after midday, when the accident happened.
The truck driver and his cattle escaped injury.
Traffic was disrupted for over an hour.
