The Newcastle North Stars have beaten the Canberra Brave seven goals to four, to complete a winning double at home on the opening weekend of the Australian Ice Hockey League season.

The Brave managed to hit back late in the period, but Newcastle was always in control.
Wudrick finished with a hat trick, while Moffat bagged a double, as the North Stars made it two wins from two at home.
