Western Australia has taken an early lead in round one of the Australian Police Bowling Championships at Tuncurry.
The defending champions comfortably defeated their Queensland opponents 126 to 82.
Victoria narrowly beat South Australia 99 to 94.
While in a surprise result, New South Wales drew with international visitors Hong Kong.
