BYRON BAY BEN RUNNING FOR BEYOND BLUE

Meet Ben Ferris.

Or, Byron Bay Ben as most locals know him.

He loves to run.

But as a kid, the now 31-year old didn’t always have that smile on his face.

“My parents divorced, and the trauma in our family that was just my little escape.”

Now Ben’s hoping what helped him, will also help others.

His plan is to run to and from towns starting with ‘B’ to talk to locals; raising both money and awareness for the charity ‘beyond blue’.

“It’s something that is close to my heart, it’s in my family and i’m a big believer in yourself and psychology.”

Just call him our very own ‘Ferris-Gump’.

“I did join the army and life is like a box of chocolates!”

“On the first of April, Byron Bay Ben will begin his next journey, as he bounces his way all the way down to Bondi. The 1000-km journey is expected to cost around $8,000 so he’s looking for sponsors and a support crew”

“The hard work is between the towns and that’s where it’s not seen”

If all goes according to plan, Ben also has his sights on Ballarat, Bendigo and even Broome!

You can follow him on his facebook page.
