FOUR TEENAGERS CHARGED OVER SCHOOL FIRE

Four teenage boys have been charged in relation to a deliberately lit fire at South Kempsey’s Melville High School, which destroyed classrooms for special needs students.

The blaze broke out at around 9pm on January 29 in the school’s Learning Support Unit.

It destroyed two classrooms and a staff room, with the damage bill estimated to be more than $2.5-million.

Earlier this week, detectives attached to Strike Force Tooradin charged three 14-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy with a string of offences.

They will appear in children’s court in March and April.
