FALLOUT CONTINUES FOR TITANS

The NRL has reportedly taken over ownership of the Gold Coast Titans, as the club struggles to deal with drug allegations against five of its players.

NRL CEO Dave Smith is expected to make an announcement when he fronts a media conference alongside Titans CEO Graham Annesley at 1.30 this afternoon.

It comes after Greg Bird, Dave Taylor, Kalifa Faifai Loa, Beau Falloon and Jamie Dowling were issued with court notices to face drug supply charges.

They have been stood down, pending their court appearances over the next two weeks.

The club, which is without a major sponsor, has also been forced to abandon its training base at the Southport School following the allegations.
