The Anglican Church is considering selling one of its landmark Newcastle buildings.
The future of Bishopscourt on Brown Street will be decided next week.
The property has been leased privately, after Bishop Greg Thompson chose not to reside there following his installment in 2013.
It’s understood growing maintenance costs may be one reason for the push to sell the old building and surrounding grounds.
The diocesan council will meet next Thursday to vote on the proposed sale.
