A residents group at Bateau Bay say they fear a ‘chainsaw massacre’ for native trees, if changes to their removal go ahead.
Wyong Council is reviewing its policy on tree removal, which may see the distance from which a tree can be removed without council consent doubled.
Council will make a decision on the changes at the end of March.
