DROWNING PROMPTS SURF SAFETY MESSAGE
There’s been a tragic start to 2015, with a man drowning at The Entrance North this afternoon.
The man, believed to be in his 60s, was pulled from the surf just before 2pm and life savers carried out CPR.
Paramedics and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter arrived on scene a short time later, but the man couldn’t be revived.
Surf Lifesaving New South Wales has confirmed the man was swimming outside the patrolled area and is urging all beach-goers to stay between the flags.
Police are working to formally identify the man.
