WEATHER WITH GAVIN MORRIS: Big December rain.

The Northern NSW coast has been swamped with heavy rain across the weekend with 300mm coming down from Kingscliff to Coolangatta and inland to Murwillimbah and Nimbin where up to 150mm fell on Saturday.

50 to 80mm fell from Coffs Harbour to Port Macquarie. So now the drought has eased for the Hunter Valley and the coast.

Big rain is still needed across the north-west however.

Tomorrow a dry southerly will move up the coast and a few showers will blow in on NYE for the Northern NSW coast but for most it will be predominantly fine.
