WEATHER WITH GAVIN MORRIS: Wet End to 2014.

Significant Christmas Day rain fell across the catchment areas of the Upper Hunter with 50 to 90mm coming down in between Maitland and Tamworth.

Tomorrow the cloud is going to build across the region with showers and storms moving in before rain begins to fall across northern NSW and south-east QLD. Southerly winds will also build along the coast.
This rain belt will extend southward on Sunday and a large portion of the broadcast area will see more significant totals accumulated to increase overall numbers for December, helping to ease the drought situation. Timing not good though for the holidays so be prepared for some indoor activities.

Offshore boating not recommended.

Southern protected point breaks best for surfers.
