GREAT WHITE SPOTTED AGAIN IN LAKE MACQUARIE

A juvenile Great White caught on camera has been spotted again in Lake Macquarie.

The 2.5 to three metre shark was spotted by a New South Wales Fisheries Inspector Don Taylor off Cams Wharf on Friday morning.

“We noticed a black object, about 100 yards away. We naturally drove towards it and funny enough it turned out to be the Great White,” said Mr Taylor.

Mr Taylor who was on a routine patrol of the area, says he believes the shark is in the lake feeding, and it appeared to be “placid” and not showing aggression.

He says it’s not really rare to have a shark in the lake and that the shark had been spotted as far back as July.

New South Wales Fisheries has sent a warning to potential hunters that fines are in place for killing sharks and that it should be left alone.
