While Mike Baird unveiled a $20-billion state infrastructure plan today, the Hunter largely seems to have missed out.
The region has been promised an unspecified amount from the $1-billion Regional Water Security Fund, and the Regional Growth Roads Program, but the opposition says that’s not enough.
“Newcastle and the Hunter have been totally neglected in today’s announcement, they’ve been left to fight on their own.”
The Hunter Business Chamber meanwhile has welcomed the government’s announcement, but says it wants to ensure the region receives its fair share.
