CONSTRUCTION OF ‘BEACHES’ DEVELOPMENT UNDERWAY

For almost a decade, it’s been the talk of Catherine Hill Bay – but now construction of the Beaches housing development has finally begun.

The sub-division will see more than 550 homes built in the small seaside village.

  1. As a buyer in the development I drove past last week and it was great to see the progress. I saw the village park plans with a playground for the kids and cafe for the adults and can’t wait to live there. For those who were against this ever happening you are living in a time warp. There is one run down pub (which luckily just changed hands) and a pile of weekenders and holiday lets, the town is dead. The new homes and their residents who are virtually all from the local area I believe, will breath new life in to Catho, not just on weekends in summer but all year round. Good on the developer for persuing their vision against the selfish handful of residents who wanted the place to themselves.

  2. They need to build a Mental Health Centre/Hospital for some of the very stupid protests by a few people who
claim the miner could look out his cottage and see a boat. The most important place in town. People like that need to be certified. They will also need assistance as they have never had sewerage and some of the locals
will not know how to use a toilet. Need to release a lot more land and build a few thousand homes. Forget the heritage rubbish people were so interested in it they did nothing to try and prevent the bushfires. Get James Packer and Paul Keating they will have great s ideas about this new suburb. A lot of the old homes need to
be demolished also as they look like slums.
