P-PLATE DRIVER CHARGED AFTER MORISSET CRASH

A young P-plate driver has been charged following a car crash at Morisset yesterday, which left a woman with serious head injuries.

It’s alleged the 20-year-old man was driving at nearly 200-kilometres an hour along the M1, when he crashed into the back of a Toyota Hilux, sending it over a bridge and into a creek.

The 38-year-old driver of the Hilux was trapped for some time before she was flown to John Hunter Hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

The man’s licence has been suspended and he was granted conditional bail to appear before Wyong Local Court on December 1.
