Port Macquarie surfer Matt Banting has placed second at the O’Neill SP Prime in Brazil.
In front of a crowd of 20,000, Banting posted a 15.3 to earn his place on the podium.
Brazillian Filipe Toledo took out the honours, posting a final score of 19.04.
Banting will now head to Hawaii before preparing for the 2015 World Championship Tour.
