INQUIRY TO INVESTIGATE HUNTER PLANNING DECISIONS

A parliamentary inquiry will investigate controversial planning decisions in the Hunter region amid allegations Liberal MPs received illegal donations from developers.
The inquiry will examine the Newcastle Urban Renewal Strategy, the Whitebridge housing development and the truncation of the Newcastle rail line.

So far 10 Liberal MPs have moved to the crossbench after two inquiries at the ICAC.

The committee will report back before the March state election.
