JETS AGREE TO RELEASE CRAIG GOODWIN

Newcastle Jets player Craig Goodwin will return to his home state of South Australia, with the club agreeing to release him from his contract.

He was due to play for the Jets until the end of the 2015/16 A-league season, but the mutual termination of the contract means the 22-year-old can now join Adelaide United on a two-year deal.

“Craig has been a great servant of the Newcastle Jets and we thank him for his efforts during his time at the Club,” said Head Coach Phil Stubbin.

“We’ve got the luxury of having a number of quality players on that left-hand side and after adding everything up, we made a calculated decision to allow Craig to leave.”

Goodwin has thanked the club and its members for their support.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the past two seasons at the Jets and I’d like to thank everyone at the club including the players, coaches and staff for making me feel so welcome.

“The fans have been fantastic as well and I’m extremely grateful for the support they’ve given me during my time in Newcastle.” he said.
