AUSGRID SAYS TESTING CARRIED OUT AFTER ASBESTOS SCARE
Ausgrid has been quick to deny union claims, it failed to tell staff of an asbestos scare its Noraville depot.
The power giant says testing was carried out as soon as it became aware of concerns about possible exposure from dust on boxes being moved to its new Ourimbah warehouse.
It also says a safety alert was issued as soon as preliminary results were received.
The Ourimbah depot has since been given the all clear, while precautions are still in place further north.
Ausgrid says the safety of its workers is its number one priority.
