Two local bodyboarders have been awarded the country’s highest commendation for bravery.
It follows the daring rescue of a couple, back in March 2012.
Mates Tim Martin and Ryan Higginbottom dragged a man and woman from the water at Surfers Paradise.
Sadly, the woman couldn’t be revived, but the man survived.
The rescuers will receive the Australian Bravery Award during a ceremony at Parliament House later this year.
