BEARS COACH SIGNS FOR TWO MORE SEASONS

The Tweed Seagulls suffered a big loss in the Queensland Cup this afternoon, going down 40 points to four – while yesterday the Bears accounted for the Magpies.

Meanwhile, Bears coach Jimmy Lenihan’s signed on for two more seasons, after taking over from Carl Briggs halfway through this year.

Lenihan says his young side’s developing fast, and is likely to be a formidable force in coming seasons.

“Probably hasn’t had the best of times in recent years, but I think we’ve got a really good group of young blokes coming through. We’ve just got to get good people enrolled in the club, and I’m sure good things will follow.”
