WEATHER UPDATE: WEEKEND RAIN

It should be the best rain event of the year for eastern Australia. The rain will be widespread with most locations receiving moderate to heavy falls.

The moist onshore winds are still feeding the forming low, now over SA, with the associated trough stretching back to Central QLD. The cloud will continue to increase and the rain band will dive down across NSW and into SA.

Periods of rain, heavy at times, will spread across the NW, Northern Ranges and NE NSW. The system will then move across the entire region as we enter Sunday.

By Monday an east coast low will form to the SE so the winds will move from the north to the west and follow up showers will come down across the western slopes as things clear on the coast.

By Tuesday the low will start to move offshore causing coastal showers to spread north with strong winds and high seas building.
