TAMWORTH CELEBRATES THE CENTENARY OF THE AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS

The Australian Red Cross also celebrated its centenary today.
The national organisation was formed in 1914, just days after world war one began, to support servicemen and women.
Members of the Tamworth Branch of the Red Cross marked the special occasion with a morning tea.
Around 25 members attended, with the event held to honour and pay tribute to those who make a difference in the community.
The local group has been running for around 90 years.
