Tamworth Regional Council has confirmed it’s exploring the idea of building a new multi-million dollar correctional centre in Tamworth.
Tomorrow night councillors are expected to vote in favour of developing a plan to submit to the state government to see it’s interested in the project.
The development will include a jail, renewable energy centre and commercial glasshouse and could create up to 250 jobs.
