CLARENCE VALLEY BUSHFIRES COMING UNDER CONTROL
Fire fighters and some welcome rain have helped contain many of the bushfires burning in the Clarence Valley region.
But the Rural Fire Service is carefully monitoring the situation in case the bigger fires flare up again.
The worst hit area was at Kremnos, south of Grafton, where four houses and at least three cars were destroyed by fire over the weekend.
Three people had to be evacuated by helicopter from one home threatened by flames late on Saturday.
Helicopters dropped more water on the fire at Kremnos this afternoon.
