About 2:30pm yesterday a 76-year-old woman was riding a red Honda motorcycle along Cessnock Road at Weston, before crashing into a Mitsubishi van driven by a 28-year-old man.
NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended and treated the rider, before she was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, where she later died. The 28-year-old van driver was taken to Kurri Kurri Hospital for mandatory testing.
There were two other fatal, and one serious motorcycle crashes throughout the state over the weekend.
