Today’s cold snap sent shivers up the spines of many across the Far North Coast, but none more so than our junior soccer players.
A record 1100 of them from across 124 football clubs converged on the Alstonville Soccer Club to celebrate the club’s annual carnival, now in it’s 34th year.
“This is an opportunity to be playing with teams from outside their area. And the best thing is it’s not just boys we get an increasing number of girls who are joining in, not sure if it’s the world cup excitement this year but particularly in the teenage years.”
