STUDENTS GET THEIR HANDS DIRTY FOR NATIONAL SCHOOLS TREE DAY
Tamworth South Public School got in early to help celebrate National Tree Day.
The official day will be held on Sunday and is Australia’s largest tree-planting and nature-care event.
More than 200,000 people get involved each year.
Teachers say it’s a valuable learning experience for young children.
“They’re learning how to plant a garden, how to look after the garden, how to even get plants out of pots. Isn’t that right girls? Yes. We learnt that. So it’s really important they learn all those skills.”
